The end of an era at Euroline

On 30th September 2019, Euroline says a fond  “farewell” to its long-serving Managing Director, Mike Packer, who has decided to enter retirement.

After 5 decades  serving the shipping industry and with 30 of those years leading  Euroline from its first day of trading, Mike is stepping down and plans to  devote his time to travelling with his wife and visiting his family who are spread ‘far and wide’. He also plans to enjoy quality time pursuing various interests and his hobbies (notably golf and following the fortunes of Aberdeen Football Club).

Mike followed in his father’s footsteps into the shipping industry and, over the decades, has made countless friends in the shipping community around the world many of whom have supported Euroline throughout all Mike’s time at the company. His admirable knowledge, influence and input will be sorely missed.

When asked of his time in  the shipping industry, Mike commented that “there had been many ‘highs’ and of course one or two ‘lows’ when  measuring over  the 5 decade period”. “It was extremely difficult to point to any one particular job but simply wished to put on record his immense satisfaction in helping  to create a service company with a 30 year history which was ready to embrace a new chapter in continuing to deliver service with quality to its clients”.

Mike leaves the company in a robust , healthy and stable position at the vanguard of ships agency and logistics  in Scotland with a team who will strive to maintain the very high standards and principles on which Euroline was founded 4 decades ago.
